The Fake Sound(s) Of Progress.

Evening.

We humans are a pretty sophisticated bunch. Some people dedicate their lives to working out how we tick. They study behaviour and stick electrodes into squishy pink brains. They probably do other stuff too but that's technical enough, right?

Anyway, we like to strut about this planet like we own the place. As if we are masters of all we survey. We have built incredible machines to perform menial tasks for us (by we, obviously I don't mean you & I. I mean clever people) and we perhaps not unreasonably regard ourselves as in control of the machines.

Turns out that the artificial bastards might be pulling one over on us.

Collected HERE is a list of 5 ways in which machines lie to us to make us feel better. The most unexpected one for me was the cash machine. I'll never look at one the same way again, and I suspect you won't either.

Yeah, But Is It Art?

Cast your eye over the piece below. It is by a struggling young artist using an emergent technique called 'Bomomo'. It may look like nothing at first but if you really look, you will see the myriad intricacies. It is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Yeah, so it was me that made this monstrosity. It took about 2 minutes. I call it 'Fiddling With All The Buttons In This Cool Piece Of Online Image Creation Software I Just Found Called Bomomo'. Catchy, eh?

Try it yourself, it has surprising depth despite all being controlled using a set of floating balls. I'd like to see what someone with talent could do with it. Consider yourself challenged, dudes and ladies. Wow me.

Dasvidaniya, Comrade.

Today's game is Red Remover. A deeply serious, dense, political text adventure about ousting communism from The Soviet Republic. Each session of the game requires 4 hours of your time and you will emerge feeling drained of all your energy and any sense you may have had that the world we live in is a joyful and happy place.

Jus' kiddin'. It's a physics game, innit?

Click to remove certain blocks, the aim is to keep all the green shapes safe, while eliminating the vile red menace. Starts off simple, then you have to deal with different planes of gravity. It's good fun and compelling, plus the little smiley faces that all the blocks have are adorable. So give it a go.

Zzzap.

Putting stuff in a microwave. A staple of internet video. People with no accountability and enough kutzpah to endanger themselves and their trusty frozen-curry-heater-upper for the entertainment of a load of imaginary people. So yeah, what about a mobile phone. Can you put one of them in a microwave? Yes you can and 100% of the time this will definitely happen:
