Cover the big red circle with the five smaller circles. It should be easy but it's not. In fact, it's driving me crazy. For real, look up a solution online. Yeah, cheat! You still won't be able to Cover the Red Circle! Trust me.

Super, Smashing, Great.

Superheroes! Fictional characters of unprecedented physical prowess dedicated to acts of derring-do in the public interest. I stole that line from Wikipedia and I salute whoever wrote it as it is one of the greatest sentences ever written.

Anyway, they all have unique powers, some have powers that thwart the powers of others. Essentially making them superer. But who is The Superest?

I'm glad you asked! Two artists; Kevin Cornell & Matthew Sutter are dedicated to answering that very question. They are engaged in a game that has been going on for over 8 months now, wherein one of them draws a superbeing with specific powers and the other then has to design one whose powers negate the first and then it's back to the first guy... and well, you see what I mean.

Some examples:

is defeated by:

who is bested by:

and so on. It's a great read, you can see the current champ Here or the whole dang lot (start at the bottom) Here.

Putting stuff in a microwave. A staple of internet video. People with no accountability and enough kutzpah to endanger themselves and their trusty frozen-curry-heater-upper for the entertainment of a load of imaginary people. So yeah, what about a mobile phone. Can you put one of them in a microwave? Yes you can and 100% of the time this will definitely happen:

My Debut Album.

Yes, that's right. My debut album. Bit of a surprise, eh? I'd wager that most of you didn't even know I was in a band. Call yourselves friends? You should be ashamed. Makes me sick.
However! I should lay off the insults, I guess. Otherwise you'll be less inclined to buy my album and I may never achieve the levels of fame and fortune that I long for. So, my wonderful friends who I have always loved... without further ado, I give you: My Debut Album!

In stores now. Buy a copy. No, wait. Buy 2 copies!

I'm not fooling you, am I?
You all know I'm not in a band. I have no musical talent whatsoever and could kill small animals with my singing. So, what's with the album cover, man?

It's part of this forum thread Here. The rules are as follows:

Band Name: The first result of a 'Random Article Search' on Wikipedia.
Album Title: The last 4 words of the last quote on This Quotations Page.
Cover Art: The third result in Flickr's 'Last 7 Days' page.

Then, a bit of copying, pasting and editing in some expensive piece of artistic software like... MS Paint and you're done. Get to it and *puts hopelessly-optimistic hat on* show me what you get in the comments section!

"Things I love to see in an online game", an essay by Paul Nelson (aged 23 and a half):
Ragdoll Physics Engine,
Unusual Art Style,
Satisfying Sound Effects (FX? Does anyone use that anymore?).

With that in mind, here's Ragdoll Cannon.

Famous Last Words.

Just a quick one, I wasn't planning on giving you anything today but this is just too good to ignore. It's Wordle: a simple premise executed brilliantly. Essentially, bung in a load of words (song lyrics, passages from a favourite film, a recipe for spaghetti bolognese. whatever) and it'll spit out a "beautiful word cloud". Then you can fanny about with various settings until it looks perfect and then admire it. Or you can do what I did and make it your desktop wallpaper by 'alt+printscreen'ing it and pasting it into MS Paint. So now, when I boot up the faithful old lappy, I see This. Try it yourself, it looks great. Now, for kicks, here's the front page of this here blog in word-cloud form. Shazam!

This post is a salute to all those who dare to dream of what might be. Those who are not constrained by what the bleating masses think is possible.

Essentially, I'm giving props to whoever it was that made this water slide WITH A FREAKING LOOP-DE-LOOP IN IT!

Confession. Part 2.

I need a bit more sweet release from my webcomic obsession (2 new ones added since last we broached the subject!) so allow me to present another set of virtual drawings that have made me their slave. This time, it is XKCD. The art style may be simplistic. Well, it doesn't get much simpler than stick figures. Any schmo can draw them, right? But the punchlines are often far from conventional. I consider myself to be a man of some intelligence, and parts of the stuff in this comic (especially the bits involving higher mathematics) are way beyond me. So, I hear you cry, what chance to we have? Well it's not all ubergeekery. Most of it is just plain funny. Take. A. Look. For. Yourself.

How much attention have you been paying over the last 3 decades? It's probably more than you think. Especially where music is concerned. Largely because it is something that can't be ignored. Whatever you do, you are bound to hear some at some point in your day. Also, you pick up artist names, song and album titles etc without even realising it. But could you translate a bunch of picture clues representing artists, albums & songs from the 80s, 90s and 00s? Well, why not find out by playing Music Cube (the nerdy title of this post suddenly makes sense) and see how you get on.

Size matters.

Evening my young Linkateers, got some great stuff for you tonight. Couple of artists called John Rooney and... err, Slinkachu. The former is the creator of 'Smash Bonsai' which involves taking little toy cars and deforming them to make them look like they have crashed, then coupling them with Bonsai Trees. Genius, I think you'll agree:

Check out The Site and have a poke about for more pics.

Next, I am linking to another blog. Albeit one with far greater artistic merit than my own. You may well see some of this guy's work if you are in London and you keep your eyes peeled. I can't sum it up any better than the tagline on the blog. 'Little handpainted people, left in London to fend for themselves'.

He also did a project called Inner City Snail and... well, just take a look for yourselves Here or peruse more from the Little People Here.

I'm selling out... Again!

Yes! It's another viral video advert, this time for some office supply company. Advertising agencies, some advice: If you want me to plug your product, make a video with a Rube Goldberg device in it.

In all seriousness, this one is actually really well thought out. Have a goosie.
