Plinxmas Vidvent Calendar - Day 21!

Afternoon,
Going to use today's post to give mad props, etc to notable animator and friend of plinx; Eddie Bowley. He is also doing a web-based advent videostravaganza this month, and as if it weren't obvious, you should check it out.

Here's the most recent upload, an alphabet themed short toon from his Edd Egg series:

Now go forth and watch all his other stuff. Tell him Paul sent you and you'll be well looked after.

Space: The Final Frontier.

Evening all. I trust you're well.

I'm going to really test your mettle tonight, put your skills through their paces. This game is not for you 'casual' gamers, so go back to your Farmville, pansies.

It's called Super PSTW Action RPG, the PSTW stands for 'press space to win' and err... that's all you do. Don't get me wrong, you have to press it a few times.

It's a fun little pastiche of RPG flash games, but the REAL reason I'm drawing your attention to it is because of a review it got from an irate player. As with many places on the internet, Newgrounds.com affords visitors the ability to comment on the content of the site. Obviously, when you give the general public an anonymous mouthpiece, you get, well... you get utter twats. The above game attracted a real doozy. He spewed out such a malformed chunk of prose that someone else felt compelled to do a dramatic reading of it and then a THIRD person made an animated video for it. It's stuff like this that makes me love the internet.

Without further ado, I present to you 'Dot Dot Dot'.

On The 21st Day Of PlinXmas!

So, it's the shortest day of the year. It's already completely dark outside but at least we can rely on it getting brighter from now on.

Today, you should spend some time watching the Christmas special of Edd Egg, which is an excellent webtoon by my pal Edd. Also, the end credits music is by my other pal/dangerous lunatic 'Baldmonkey'

It's called Mistletoe and Mine and could be referred to as 'loosely topical'.

Why did Frosty go to live in the middle of the ocean?

Because snow man is an island!

Representin'.

Evening.
Tonight I am giving mad props to some friends and their projects!

Cast your eyes to the right, you should see an animated .gif. If you click it, you will be directed to a place where someone has managed to combine the wonderful worlds of dinosaurs and warm clothing! That someone is Charlotte, a friend of mine. She makes Dinohoodies. They're exactly what they sound like and that's why you should want one. But don't take my word for it, have a click, look in the Gallery!

Want one? Yeah, me too.

However, you may be one of those people who only buys something after watching a short cartoon that is loosely connected with said product. How do you get by like that? It must make life pretty difficult. Why bother? Weirdo.

ANYWAY, even your ridiculous life choice has been catered for. Because Edd, another friend, has prepared this comic vignette for the dinohoodie cause. So watch it:

Edd also makes lots of other animations, comics, sounds and smells. Check them all out HERE!

Buff Daddy.

Evening. It's about this time in the evening when you need something a bit relaxing. Had your dinner, just mooching about until bed time. Mmm. Lovely.

WELL THAT'S QUITE ENOUGH OF THAT!

Dad's home now. Don't know what I mean? You Will Soon!

That right there is one of my favourite web animations ever. It's a real blast from the past too. It was over 5 years ago when I first encountered it. There was a Sequel but it wasn't quite as good.

The real good news though... now there's A Freaking GAME.

Now you, yes YOU can run around with your head on fire smashing things to pieces.

Get to it.

Who Watches The Watchmen?

Hello. I know I promised a less geeky link today but frankly, I can't help myself. This has to be shared.

I should warn you, if you haven't read Watchmen, it won't mean much to you. Also, if you haven't read Watchmen, you really should.

Anyway, it's an animation that depicts Watchmen as if it were an 80s Saturday morning cartoon. The parody is spot on in every way.

Saturday Morning Watchmen!

Ok, link for normal people coming this weekend. Honest!

PlinXmas Advent Calendar: Day 22!

Wahoo! Thanks to the big cheeses at work, my holiday started half a day early! I am now off work until the 5th of Jan. Not that I'll have much time to relax, I have an absolutely packed holiday. It's going to be great.

Anyway, today I thought that maybe we could have something a little more highbrow than we've had thus far. I mean come on, looking back over the month there has been crude animation, ridiculous games, people falling in pits of poo and piles of empty beer bottles. Frankly, we should all be above this kind of thing. So dust off your top hat and monocle, and drink in some sophistication with today's most classy Link. Spiffing.

PlinXmas Advent Calendar: Day 8!

I hope when you see this new link, you just may,
Have your heart grow 2, nay, 3 sizes today.

For on this day, of all days, the 8th of December,
I hope to provide one you'll always remember.

So sit right there, watch and don't move an inch,
I hope you delight in the tale of The Grinch!

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

And now I must say, with impeccable timing,
I hope you enjoyed these fine couplets of rhyming!

PlinXmas Advent Calendar: Day 7!

Oops, I've left this one a bit late. Blame a lack of preparation. Hopefully after a few seconds of watching Today's Link, you'll have forgotten my indiscretion and probably your name and where you live. It's a bit hypnotic. So yeah see you tomo... boing boing boing boing boing.

Shine Get!

Sound the Nerd Horn. This link is not only about videogames. It's about a Japanese guy who is famous for making games. Pretty cool, right? Hey, where are you going?!

Oh well, who needs them? It just means they miss out on a funky animation about Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto meeting a few of his most famous creations. It makes me smile. That's all that matters.

The Legend Of Miyamoto!

Coo-el.

Hola!
¿Cómo estás? ¿Dónde está el baño?

Ahem, sorry about that. I have been watching some Spanish animations (Spanimations?) and I got carried away.
So, would you like to see said animations? Hah! As if you have any say in this.
They are called Las Aventuras de Mr. Coo and have been around for ages. In fact, the first one was showed to me by a certain Phil Johnstone esq. way back in the days of the Havant College forum we used to frequent. So why dredge them up now? Well, because since that first 'toon, there have been 2 sequels and now... a game! So have a squiz.

Oh, by the way... they get progressively weirder. Just a heads-up.
Mr. Coo #1&2
Mr. Coo #3
Mr. Coo #4

Mr. Coo, the game!

Hey! Presto.

As I'm sure you're aware. Every time Pixar bring out a new fillum, they prefix it with an animated short. Just Like These.

So, the release of the new Pixar film, Wall-E is imminent (and it looks great!) Naturally, they must have made a new short too.

Correct, it's called Presto and I am going to reveal it for you. Shazam!

Hmm, turns out that is just a trailer. But never fear! Full one Here.
